#QuiltBlockMania - Charleston Palm Tree Pattern

 Hello Quilty Friends!

I am excited to share my block for #QuiltBlockMania this month!  Neighborhood blocks are the theme for April and I was really struggling with coming up with an idea.  The first thing that pops to mind is a house, which made me think of my Charleston Houses quilt.  When I looked through the photos of my Charleston trip for inspiration, I finally had a great idea - a palm tree!

Most of us associate palm trees with the beach, but the city of Charleston has palm trees throughout every neighborhood.  This could be a fun and easy block to add to your Charleston Houses quilt.

This block is free through the month of April 2023.  After then, you can purchase the pattern for just $1. Get this simple and cute block from my shop by clicking the link:  Palm Tree Block.

Or - you could make a fun quilt using all the blocks in the neighborhood #QuiltBlockMania collection!  Check out the other free blocks for this month from these amazing designers.

Charleston Quilt Inspiration

We visited Charleson, South Carolina in December '22 and the beautiful city immediately inspired me.  From the cobblestone streets to the filigreed ironwork - I could see patterns everywhere.  I especially loved walking around and looking at the gorgeous historic buildings.  Here is one of the houses that inspired the Charleston Houses quilt.

This little house was literally in an alley between two larger houses.  I loved how quaint and adorable it was.  The flower box and potted plants made it even prettier.  I'm not sure if they even had a yard or a place to park their car, but it really is the cutest little house.

What I've Been Sewing

My main focus this month has been creating the house blocks for the Charleson Houses quilt.  So far I have finished the Pink House with it's adorable side porch and balcony...
